Regional Loan Corporation was formed in 1978 to stimulate economic development and foster job creation by collaborating with economic development organizations and financial institutions to provide funding sources for small business
 
Utilizing programs with the city of New Orleans, the US Department of Commerce Economic Development Administration, Regional Loan Corporation has participated in small business projects totaling $194 million and has loaned over $90 million to these businesses.

These $90 million have included loans to a wide variety of industries including: manufacturing, wholesale, hospitality, food service, distributors, auto and body repair and all forms of retail.
